The NSUI on Wednesday won the president's post in the Delhi University Students' Union while the ABVP won the secretary's post. The NSUI is also ahead in vice president and joint secretary posts.

The counting of votes for the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections began today at a community hall near Kingsway Camp in New Delhi amid tight security. The last time the NSUI swept the DUSU polls was ten years ago in 2007. Since then, it has mostly been a downward spiral, except for 2012 when it won three seats. There were 126 ballot boxes for the DUSU panel and eight were taken for counting in each round.

Representatives of major students political outfits were present outside the counting centre. A total of 43 per cent turnout was recorded in the DUSU elections held on Tuesday. Last year, the ABVP bagged three posts while NSUI made a comeback, winning the post of joint secretary.
