The Bengaluru police have secured the footage of the CCTV from the residence of senior journalist, Gauri Lankesh who was murdered on Tuesday. The police are analysing the footage which is said have the images of the bike borne assailants who shot her dead.

The footage will be sent for forensic analysis as the area was poorly lit. It would require some image enhancement, the police said. There are currently no eye-witnesses to the murder. People came out only after they heard gun shots, Karnataka State Police chief R K Dutta said.

Investigations have also suggested that the assailants found an easy escape path since there were many cross roads in the area. Meanwhile the family of Gauri Lankesh has demanded a CBI probe into the incident. The assailants should be brought to book her brother Indrajit Lankesh said.

Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy while drawing parallels with the murder of Narendra Dabholkar and M M Kalaburgi directed the police to get in touch with their counterparts in Maharashtra.
