Governor of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu CH Vidyasagar Rao is leaving for Tamil Nadu on Monday in the wake of political developments in the southern state involving the merger of two factions of AIADMK.

"The Governor is leaving Tamil Nadu in the morning some urgent official work. He has therefore cancelled all his appointments for the day in Mumbai," Raj Bhavan officials said.

Sources from the Panneerselvam camp have said that they have asked for a resolution on Sasikala Natarajan's ouster from the AIADMK General Secretary post.

As the countdown for AIADMK merger begins, leaders of both O Panneerselvam and Edappadi Palanisamy camps have started arriving at the party headquarters. For the first time after the party split in February this year, members of both camps have come together. Some office bearers appointed by TTV Dinakaran are also at the AIADMK headquarters. Chief Minister E Palanisamy and O Panneerselvam were to arrive after noon but are yet to leave from their respective residences.
