Congress leaders created ruckus and staged walkout in Lok Sabha over the Income Tax (IT) raids in Karnataka.

Congress MP and Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that the raid was conducted just to defeat one candidate in the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls in Gujarat. Kharge said, "Just to defeat one Rajya Sabha candidate, they are stooping this low, but they will not succeed."   Adding further, Kharge also told that the government's attitude towards the Opposition was wrong and against the principles of democracy.

Responding to Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge's allegations, Union minister Arun Jaitley said, "IT raids on DK Shivakumar should be seen as an action against the economic offense, but not as a political game. Raid on Karnataka minister is not releated to Rajya Sabha polls in Gujarat."

Jaitley said that the only reason I-T officials visited the resort was to interrogate and escort Shivakumar. He also added that the MLAs were neither searched nor approached by any official.Jaitley had given similar statements in Rajya Sabha too. Congress leaders, who were not satisfied by Jaitley's response gathered in the well and shouted slogan against the government, and walked out of the house. Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 PM.
