The central government has authorized the army to buy a weapon that will allow the army to prepare for the war shortly after the turbulent climate continues on the Sikkim border and the frequent ceasefire violation from Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.

The military has been given full financial powers for the collection of 46 types of ammunition and 10 types of weapons in the backdrop of internal reports that high level combat operations are not being carried out. It is said that the cost will be Rs 40,000 crore to be compeleted.

The CAG reported in 2015 that there was a huge shortage of ammunition in the army. The rule is that there must be enough ammunition for a 40-day war. However, due to the heavy deficiency of ammunition, this rule was brought down to 20 days of ammunition. The CAG and the parliamentary committee raised questions about the military's war preparedness. The army has long been demanding the Center's central government to arrange for a quick sale of arms and weapons.
