 "In our aim to build modern India, we wish that Karnataka too will become an active partner. To make this happen, BJP should rise to power in this state," he felt.

Jaitley said that Karnataka was months away from the next election, and that the efforts should be aimed at coming together and unitedly support the leadership of Yeddyurappa, who is in the driver's seat now. He exhorted party leaders and workers alike to concentrate on working for the party's victory by supporting Yeddyurappa's leadership in unison.

Jaitley said that the country has now got relieved of caste and family politics and performance happens to be the sole criteria for victory. Citing results in Uttar Pradesh election as an example for the changed scenario, Jaitley said that the entire country is now bathing in the newfound hope and enthusiasm created by Modi wave.
