John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate latest to offend religious sentiments

The trailer of ‘Satyameva Jayate’ released recently, and while it impressed most, the trailer has managed to offend a group of people too, out of religious reasons.

National Herald reported that BJP minority Front General Secretary Syed Ali Jafri has lodged a complaint in Hyderabad against the movie claiming it hurts the sentiments of Shia community. Syed’s statement mentioned, “There is one shot in the trailer which shows the festival of Muharram and it depicts a scene of Matam (self-flagellation). The actor is later shown committing a murder following Matam. This has hurt our sentiments.” The makers have recently released the newer version of Sushmita Sen and Sanjay Kapoor’s iconic song ‘Dilbar’.
