Vijay Deverakonda, the actor who rose to fame with his film Arjun Reddy, cannot wait to see how Shahid Kapoor would enact the role in the Hindi remake. The actor was quoted by Times of India as saying, “Both the Hindi and Tamil version, I am really looking forward to seeing them because it is really cool to see what an actor will do with the same content.

I want to see how they did things differently and how they read into the same scenes that I did. As an actor, it will be really interesting to see and the Hindi film is directed by the same director, Sandeep Vanga.” Tara Sutaria, who is set to make her debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2, will play the female lead. The Telugu film had Shalini Pandey as the leading lady.

The work on the film will begin once Shahid wraps up Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Arjun Reddy is a story about a medical student who falls deeply in love with his junior but is rejected by her family. He takes to drugs due to circumstances. How he copes with life and the decisions he make forms the crux of the story. The film is also being remade in Tamil in which Vikram’s son Dhruv will make his debut. It is titled Varma and is being directed by Bala.
