Bigg Boss 2 Tamil: Oviya returns as Kamal Haasan introduces contestants

Kamal Haasan returned to the Bigg Boss Tamil stage amid roaring response from the audience. The actor-turned-politician thanked his followers and stated that they were his strength. He then took the viewers on a tour of the Bigg Boss 2 Tamil house and pointed out the changes that have taken place inside. He also referred to night vision cameras and explained how powerful they are.

Kamal then kicked off the second season of the show by introducing the first contestant Yaashika Aanand, who appeared in the film Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu. She promises to be herself throughout the show while Kamal appreciated how she handled trolls online in the past. Actor Ponnambalam, a popular villain in the 90s, entered the house next. He was given a warm send off by his family. The third contestant in the house was Mahat Raghavendra who has worked in films like Jilla with actor Vijay. He is happy to be associated with Bigg Boss and to have met Kamal Haasan and entered the house after performing on a medley of songs. He bid goodbye to his girlfriend before entering the house.

Then came Daniel Annie Pope who expressed his happiness on being a part of the show. After saying goodbye to his mother, he entered the house and immediately went to check the washrooms. S Viswanathan’s granddaughter and video jockey Vaishnavi was the next contestant, followed by actor Janani Nair who has worked in films such as Thegidi. She entered the Bigg Boss house and was warmly welcomed by the other contestants. We then saw Ananth Vaidyanathan, who has appeared in Vijay TV’s singing reality shows as a voice expert. He was accompanied by his students, who sang a few songs. Singer Ramya NSK, who happens to be the granddaughter of comedian NS Krishna, entered the house next. Kamal Haasan commented on her funky hair style and also sang a few lines of the hit yesteryear song, “Ninaivo oru Paravai”.

Actor Sendrayan is introduced as contestant number 9, and in his enthusiasm recalls an incident when he had to buy a black ticket to watch one of Kamal’s movies, which the actor disapproves of. He then asks the actor permission to sit on the floor and eat food as he hasn’t dined on a table before. He also expresses his interest in acting in multiple language including Malayalam and Telugu. Actor Riythvika was contestant number 10. She confessed that her film has been stuck in the post production stage for the longest time and hoped that Bigg Boss 2 Tamil would help her showcase her talent. Kamal Haasan then introduced actor Mumtaz, who rose to fame with her performance in Kushi, as the next contestant. She explained that she did not know the reason why she is entering the Bigg Boss house. “I am clueless about what I will get for coming here, but I will be grateful for whatever it is. I want only to get out of the rut that my life has become,” she confessed.

Kamal then introduced comedian Balaji as the next contestant. When asked why he has said yes to the show, Balaji replied, “I want to change how I react to situations”. The supporting actor was mired in controversy when his wife accused him of mentally harassing her. Mamathi Chari, a popular video jockey, entered the Bigg Boss 2 Tamil house next. She said she wouldn’t speak ill of others because, in her opinion, it is better to say nothing than to speak ill. Nithya, an activist who champions the cause of women empowerment and comedian Balaji’s wife, also entered the Bigg Boss 2 Tamil house. She emphasized that while she is no longer Balaji’s wife, she wants to accept him as her friend and her daughter’s father. Actors Uma Riaz and Riaz Khan’s son anchor Sharik Hassan also entered
