Actor Nani has started legal proceedings against Sri Reddy after she claimed that he sexually exploited her and scuttled her chances of being a part of Bigg Boss 2 Telugu. The makers of the show have dismissed her claims saying Nani, who is hosting Bigg Boss this year, had nothing to do with the choice of contestants. Nani also tweeted that if Sri Reddy doesn’t apologise within seven days, he will sue her for defamation.

Sri Reddy, who stripped to protest casting couch in Telugu film industry a few months ago, wrote on social media that Nani not only exploited her but other female actors from the film industry. She also alleged he abused drugs. A report in Times of India quoted her as saying, “I was initially approached by the Bigg Boss team to be a part of the show. I gave my consent but when I did not hear from them for a month, I called them up to ask for an update. I was then told that they can’t take me on board because of ‘some politics’. I was shocked to hear that.” She added, “Later, it became very clear to me that Nani was instrumental in leaving me out of the show. In fact, I’ve learned that he has gone on to threaten the organisers to leave the show if I’m a part of it.”

While makers dismissed her claimed, Nani also said, “Going by her track record, the whole world has stopped reacting to all the absolute baseless nonsense she comes up with.” Sri Reddy responded with an abusive social media post with references to sexual acts. Nani responded with a legal notice demanding an apology within seven days, failing which he will sue Sri Reddy for defamation. He wrote on Twitter, “I am not going to join the filth by reacting. I am not going to give them what they want. Initiated legal action. Legal notice has been despatched for filing defamation cases. The fact that someone can randomly pick up names who are soft targets and spread such absolute baseless nonsense and think that that they can actually get away with it, disturbs me! I’m not worried about me, I’m worried for us and the society we live in. And for those very few who still want to publish all that crap for a few clicks and views.. have some shame. You all have families!”
