Alia Bhatt dines with Ranbir Kapoor’s family

Ranbir Kapoor was quite serious when he spoke about how he and Alia Bhatt are relishing being “new in love”. The actor, while accepting his relationship with Alia in a GQ interview, had said it has come with a “lot of excitement… being charming and romantic”. And it seems his family is all for the two actors being together.

On Sunday, Alia was seen with Ranbir, his mother Neetu Kapoor, sister Riddhima and niece Samara at a Mumbai restaurant. Alia was not only with the Kapoors but was protectively holding Samara’s hands as paparazzi clicked their pictures. The Kapoor family, Ranbir included, walked behind Alia and Samara. The rumours of Alia and Ranbir dating began while they were shooting together for Brahmastra in Europe; Ayan Mukerji directorial is their first film together. The rumours reached a crescendo when Ranbir and Alia arrived together at Sonam Kapoor’s reception and posed for photos. Ranbir confirmed the news in the interview as he said, “It’s really new right now, and I don’t want to over speak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. As an actor, as a person, Alia is – what’s the right word? – flowing right now. When I see her work, when I see her act, even in life, what she gives is something that I’m aspiring to for myself. It’s new for us, so let it cook a bit.”

The actor also said that he is enjoying the phas. “It always comes with a lot of excitement. It’s a new person, it comes with new beats. Old tricks become new tricks again – you know, being charming and romantic, all of that. I think I’m more balanced today. I value relationships more. I can appreciate hurt and what it does to a person much more than I could a couple years back.” Both of them had earlier accepted that they had a crush on each other. TV anchor Rajat Sharma also tried to ask Alia about Ranbir during her appearance on Aap Ki Adalat. “Even if something is going on, I don’t want to accept,” she had said then. His family cannot be happier either – Neetu and Alia often comment on each other’s Instagram updates, leaving a trail of happy emojis.
