Deepika Padukone reacts to Abhishek Bachchan tweet

If broccoli is your Kryptonite, Abhishek Bachchan is in your camp. The actor who made his hatred for the green vegetable clear -- and had to pay the price by eating it as dinner, all thanks to wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan -- has now to face some more opposition. The pro-broccoli camp now has new members besides Aishwarya -- Deepika Padukone and Soundarya Rajinikanth.

Abhishek Bachchan shared a picture that talked about the origin of broccoli and tweeted, “Why?? Why would anybody do such a thing? WHY?? I mean…. Who even likes broccoli?!?!” The image he shared said, “Broccoli is man-made. It was made 2000 years ago by farmers selectively breeding different types of cabbage.” The question was hypothetical but Deepika, an avid broccoli fan, had to stand up for what she believes in. She replied to Abhishek’s tweet and wrote, “Mmeeeee!!!!” In fact, it wasn’t just Deepika who was contesting Abhishek’s food choices. Even Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth replied to his tweet and said, “Looks very healthy for sure though.”

The broccoli tweet also ensured that he got the vegetable as his next meal. It appears that soon after his tweet, Aishwarya served him quinoa salad with broccoli and tomatoes for a meal. Few hours after his first post, Abhishek tweeted with a photo of his food, “Talk about Murphys Law. Guess the Mrs. read my last post.” Others, too, joined in the debate: On the work front, Deepika is likely to start work on a superhero project soon. Abhishek, on the other hand, is working on Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan where he will be seen alongside Taapsee Pannu.
