The team of Veere Di Wedding is doing everything possible to promote their film ahead of its June 1 release. On Monday, they released a new song, Laaj Sharam, and it sets the tone of the film. Featuring mostly Kareena Kapoor Khan and her impending wedding with Sumit Vyas in the film, the song brings out the anxiety of the bride-to-be.

It also shows her friends, Sonam Kapoor, Shikha Talsania and Swara Bhaskar struggling with their love lives. Voiced by Divya Kumar and Jasleen Royal, the song has a rap by Enbee. Composed by White Noise, Laaj Sharam takes it from where the trailer of the film left. It extends the miseries of four friends who are not ready to settle down in life. Veere Di Wedding is a female-buddy film that traces the journey of engagement to marriage of its protagonist, played by Kareena.

Speaking at the trailer launch, Kareena had said she liked the film as soon as she read the script. She said, “I’m very lucky to have a husband who is so understanding. It’s Saif Ali Khan who kind of pushed me to hit the gym and work and set an example to a lot of mothers.” Talking about her co-stars, Sonam said, “Kareena is my favourite hero to work with. People expect women to pull other women down. What’s amazing is to bond together and rule the world.”
