Anushka Shetty to team up with actor Gopichand, after Bhaagamathie

Anushka Shetty is believed to take things slow and is not signing every project that’s coming her way. Last seen on screen in Bhaagamathie, in which she played an IAS officer, she’s believed to have signed her next project after much deliberation. If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Anushka will next team up with actor Gopichand for an action based-script.

The duo had previously worked together in Lakshyam and Souryam, which was directed by Siva of Vivegam and Vedalam fame. It’s worth mentioning that Anushka was initially in talks for Siva’s next project Viswasam with Ajith. However, the golden opportunity eventually went to Nayantara, who jumped at it. While not much information is available at the moment about Gopichand’s project; it is learnt that it will be directed by Jayendra, who is currently helming Kalyan Ram and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer Naa Nuvve.

The regular shooting of this project will commence as soon as Gopichand wraps up his present commitments. “Both Anushka and Gopichand have signed on the dotted lines. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalized soon. It’s going to be an out-and-and commercial film. The team is finalizing the shooting schedule as per the availability of both the lead actors,” a source told HT. Basking in the success of Bhaagamathie, which was a runaway hit, Anushka is in talks for a couple of more projects.
