Virat Kohli says wife Anushka Sharma keeps him motivated

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are in the running for couple of the year second year in succession. After their quiet wedding, two receptions and multiple vacations kept us fixated for most part of 2017’s end, it is now their love for each other which is making us go ‘aww’.

As the Indian captain set a new batting record and scored an unbeaten century against hosts South Africa on Friday to secure an easy eight-wicket victory, guess who was on his mind – wife Anushka Sharma. Speaking about India’s 5-1 ODI series victory against South Africa, he said Anushka Sharma has been a pillar of strength during tough times. “My wife (Anushka Sharma) who keeps me motivated deserves a lot of credit. She’s been criticized a lot in the past. But she’s one person who’s kept me going throughout the tour,” Virat said after the match.

Anushka couldn’t stop gushing about her husband either. She shared a screenshot on her social media account of Virat batting and wrote, “What a guy!!” with a heart emoticon with it. A few days ago, it was Virat’s turn to gush as Anushka’s Pari trailer came out. The actor seems to be playing a double role in the horror film. Among those who applauded Anushka on her brave choice was the cricketer. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, Can’t wait to watch my one and only in an avatar never seen before and I’m blown away already ❤. Can’t wait @anushkasharma @officialcsfilms #PariTrailer.” Post India’s loss to Australia in the semis of 2015 ICC World Cup, a group of netizens trolled Anushka Sharma, holding her responsible for Virat Kohli’s indifferent form. The Delhi batsman was quick to rubbish all this and defended her. In fact, in March 2016, the Indian captain tweeted: “Shame on people for trolling @AnushkaSharma non-stop. Have some compassion. She has always given me positivity.”
