Akshay Kumar is on cloud nine. His latest release Toilet Ek Prem Katha has done what other big releases couldn't do. The film has been able to break box-office jinx by minting moolah at the ticket window. After a fabulous opening weekend, Shree Narayan Singh's directorial debut is racing towards the Rs 100-crore mark.

The film, which crossed the Rs 50-crore mark in its opening weekend, went onto collect Rs 83.45 crore within five days of its release. Toilet Ek Prem Katha has earned another Rs 6.5 crore on Wednesday, thus taking the total to Rs 89.95 crore.

Toilet Ek Prem Katha revolves around the story of Keshav (Akshay) who wants to get married. Despite being a manglik, Keshav finds the love of his life in Jaya (Bhumi) and they live happily ever-after.

It is for the first time that Akshay has been paired opposite Bhumi. Inspired from PM Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the film has received a mixed response from critics. However, Akshay's fans have given the film a thumbs up. And his fandom is translating into numbers at the box office.Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film hit the screens on August 11.
