The filmmaker Reema Kagti all set to direct a film on that epic win will shoot the Olympian winning game in Bradford. Her reason to choose in the verdant vastness of this Yorkshire County is the local Asian population who she plans to have as spectators.

The much-loved television actress  Mouni Roy will play Akshay Kumar’s leading lady. Reema says she wanted to make a sports film for the longest time.

“My friend, the lyricist-writer Ankur Tiwari, shared the idea of a movie on the epic Olympian hockey match and I finally got down to doing my own sports film,” she says.

“It’s a fictional take on what happened. Also, it is not just the golden victory in 1948 we will be looking at, but it will encompass 12 crucial years in India’s history,” she signs off.
