Hyderabad: An unidentified body found on the railway tracks was identified after a missing complaint was lodged. However after analyzing the injuries on the body and the spot, the cops found out that the man did not die in a train accident but was murdered a few meters away from the spot and was then dumped on the tracks.

To their utter shock, investigating officials realised that the deceased’s wife was behind the brutal murder and her paramour had executed it with hired killers, to whom they had paid Rs 2 lakh. Sanath Nagar police solved the suspicious death mystery of the 43-year-old driver Mohd Khaja and arrested his wife Saleha Begum, her paramour Mohd Tabrez Qureshi and four others who were involved in the murder. After the body was found on the railway tracks on February 21, the railway cops started a probe. A week later, when Saleha lodged a missing complaint at the SR Nagar police station, the railway police alerted the SR Nagar police, who identified the body as that of Khaja. Detailed checking at the spot revealed a pool of blood near the tracks, blood-stained boulders and a blood trail leading to the tracks. The case was then transferred to the Sanathnagar police.

On inquiry, the Sanathnagar police verified the CCTV cameras in different parts of the city and zeroed in on a wine mart at Madhapur, where Khaja was seen consuming alcohol with a few others. They were identified and on inquiry, they revealed the shocking facts of the murder. After Khaja came to know about the illegal affair, he warned Saleha to stay away from Qureshi. Angered, they planned to kill him. “Tabrez approached Syed Mujeeb and offered him Rs 2 lakh to kill Khaja. Mujeeb along with Ayaz, Akbar Baig and Shaik Zaheer agreed to the offer. On February 20, Khaja and Mujeeb consumed liquor and purchased more liquor and came to the railway tracks at Borabanda, where Ayaz, Akbar and Zaheer joined them. After Khaja got heavily drunk, Mujeeb and Ayaz throttled Khaja and then smashed his head with boulders. They later dragged the body to the railway tracks and fled from the spot. The arrested persons were sent to judicial remand.
