Hyderabad: A 58-year-old woman working as a typist at the High Court alleged that her neighbours had been harassing her and have been robbing valuables from her home for over a decade. Katragadda Anasuya claimed that she had lodged complaints with the police, but to no avail. She claims that the police had connived with the opposite party and hence, did not act on her complaints.

Fed up of the injustice, she approached the Cyberabad Police Commissioner on Monday and submitted a petition seeking justice. Anasuya’s family, along with her advocate brother Vasireddy Shivarama Krishnaprasad, were residing at Nallakunta before they moved to Suraram in 2003, after her brother constructed a new house. Their problems started immediately in the form of an auto driver Ali, alias, Don Ali, alias, Tiger Ali, his wife Jebunnisa Begum and his brothers who live adjacent to their house. While Anasuya went to work and her brother went to the High Court to attend cases, her cousin would take care of Anasuya's school-going daughter. Taking advantage of this situation, Ali’s family started harassing them by entering the house forcefully and abusing them in vulgar language.

"Whenever we left the house locked, Ali broke the lock and decamped with valuables and food items. We initially thought it was some unknown individuals, but later, after seeing the articles from our house in Ali’s house, I questioned him and even approached Jeedimetla Police in 2004, but he had managed to convince the police to not take any action. “After a while, when he started looting my house regularly, the police visited the spot and collected details, but never recorded the complaint and this continued as a regular affair," said Anasuya in her petition to the Commissioner. Each time after the police left her house, Ali and his men would assault her and her brother. Though neighbours had witnessed this on many occasions, they never intervened because of how much they feared Ali. She had approached police on multiple occasions, but was mocked by them as a mental lady and her complaint was not admitted.
