Hyderabad metro staffer arrested for molesting girl

Hyderabad: The SR Nagar Police arrested an employee of the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) for sexually harassing a 22-year-old-student on Thursday. According to the police, the student wanted to travel from Ameerpet to Secunderabad. When she asked an HMR employee to guide her to the correct platform, he got into an elevator with her and began touching her inappropriately.

Nithin Reddy, the accused, was working as a ticket maintainance operator at the Ameerpet Metro Station. “On Thursday morning, the student approached him and asked for help to get to the platform to go to Secunderabad. He offered to guide her and got into the elevator with her. Though there were others in the elevator, he touched her inappropriately from behind,” said G. Ajay Kumar, the administration subinspector of SR Nagar.
