Two held with heroin worth Rs 4 crore in Raj

Barmer (Raj) : Two alleged members of an international drug peddlers gang were arrested with 650 gram of heroin, worth about Rs 4 crore in foreign market, in Pachpadra village here, police said today.

In a joint operation, the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad and Barmer Police last night arrested Rahamatullah and Chunaram Prajapat alias Suresh Kumar and seized 650 gram heroin from their possession, SP (ATS) Vikas Kumar said.

The narcotics is worth around Rs 4 crore in international market, he said, adding that in initial questioning the accused told police that the drug was brought from Barmer only.

Barmer Superintendent of Police Gagandeep Singla said a case has been registered against the two accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The accused told the police that smuggler Nawab Khan, who is lodged in a jail and have over six cases pending against him, is involved in this matter too, the SP said.
