3 dead, over 30 feared trapped as 3-storey building collapses

Mumbai: Three people were killed and 12 injured on Thursday after a three-storey building collapsed near JJ Junction in Pakmodia street of Bhindi Bazar, Mumbai. Over 30 people are feared trapped under the debris.

So far, three people have been pulled out of the debris, reported ANI. DCP Zone 1 Dr Manoj Sharma confirmed that three people have been rescued from debris and that the rescue teams are looking for other survivors.

The disaster management cell of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) received a call at 8.40 am about the collapse, reported PTI.

"We immediately rushed fire brigade personnel to the site to rescue the trapped people. We fear that several people are trapped under the debris," a senior MCGM official said.Ambulances and fire brigades have also been deployed at the building collapse site.
