Maharashtra ATS arrested 3 peoples, recovers huge cache of explosives

The Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad arrested three people and recovered a huge cache of explosives on Monday. The teams found close to 15 kgs of ammonium nitrate and nine detonators in Thane.

The recovery comes days ahead of India's Independence day. Alerts are sounded in every city ahead of Republic day and Independence day every year. Mumbai, a victim of many terror attacks in the past was also on high alert.

Raids were conducted in suspected terror hideouts in Mumbra. Searches yielded a huge cache of explosives. Three people were arrested on suspicion of being terrorists. The searches were conducted by the ATS and RPF. Earlier in the day, reports suggested that the ATS was probing an anonymous letter threatening bomb blasts at various places in the state, including in Pune and Mumbai.
