Karnataka IAS officer found dead outside VIP guest house in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: A 35-year-old IAS officer of Karnataka state Anurag Tiwari was found dead outside a state government guest house in Hazratganj police station area of Lucknow on Wednesday morning.

According to Polic sources, Tiwari's death was not unnatural but postmortem examination report was awaited. A native of Bahraich district, Tiwari was posted as food and civil supplies commissioner in Bengaluru. 

He was in UP on some personal work. He stayed at the guest house in room number 19. The room was booked in the name of Lucknow Development Authority Vice-chairman and Tiwari's batchmate PN Singh.

DIG range JN Singh and SSP Deepak Kumar rushed to the spot and Tiwari was immediately taken to Civil Hospital where the doctors him declared dead on arrival. 

According to SSP Deepak Kumar, preliminary investigations suggesed that Tiwari died of seizure after suffering a fit. "But we are waiting for autopsy to take place," he said. 

Meanwhile, LDA V-C Singh said that the officer's parents had been informed and were expected in Lucknow by 12 noon. The cops ruled out the possibility of an accident or attack. Singh said "It appears that his BP shot up rapidly."
