Pre-poll survey predicts victory for Congress in 2018 Assembly elections

Bengaluru: The ruling Congress may win anywhere between 120-132 seats and come to power for the second time if elections were to be held in Karnataka today as per the latest pre-poll survey conducted in the state by C fore.

According to the survey conducted in Karnataka between July 19 and August 10 ahead of assembly elections next year, the Congress would be the winner, followed by the BJP. The Congress would win 120-132 seats and the report gives 60-72 seats for the BJP. Whereas JD(S) would get 24-30 seats.

The vote share for the Congress will be 43% and the BJP would get 32% of votes as per the report followed by 17% to the JD(S).The survey was conducted using systematic random sampling methodology in selecting respondents and C Fore had interviewed a total of 24,679 voters spread across 340 urban and 550 rural locations from 165 assembly constituencies using a structured questionnaire.

The most appreciated scheme of the ruling Siddaramaiah-led government is Anna Bhagya followed by Mid day meal scheme.The report states that 53% are somewhat satisfied with the Congress government in the state and that 46 per cent of the respondents would prefer Siddaramaiah as the CM once again.
