Cauvery Dispute: State mulls over formation of expert committee

Bengaluru: A meeting was held under the leadership of CM Siddaramaiah in connection with the formation of parallel expert committee in line with Cauvery River Supervisory Committee on May 9.

The meeting was convened to convey state's stand after consultation with Fali S Nariman who is heading a team of legal experts from the state.

Minister M B Patil will meet Nariman next week said CM Siddaramaiah who chaired the meeting and added that he would seek advice from former prime minister H D Deve Gowda regarding the creation of expert committee.

JDS State President H D Kumaraswamy and Leader of the Opposition in the Council K S Eshwarappa were absent. Jagadish Shettar from BJP, H D Revanna and Horatti from JDS and Ministers Jayachandra, M B Patil and G Parameshwara from Congress were present during the meeting.
