Baahubali-2 release : Escapes the heat of ticket fare cap in several multiplexes

Bengaluru: Thanks to the delay in implementing capping of ticket fares, several multiplexes have priced tickets of Baahubali-2 above Rs.1000, the highest being Rs.1,400 in PVR gold and other multiplexes.

Despite the state government announcing that the Rs.200 price cap on tickets will be implemented from April 27 itself, what made multiplexes to charge such huge money on tickets?

According to the sources, the Karnataka Film Chamber wanted to implement the new rule from Thursday itself. Its office-bearers assumed that state government may issue the order in this regard by 10 am as the Chief Minister has already signed the order. But till Friday, April 28 the order was not issued.

" The state government may not issue the order atleast till this weekend due to the technical issues. It is with the home department as multiplexes fall under the control of the department. Officials are examining each clause of the order since it should not face the wrath of the judiciary. It may take 2-3 days to issue the final order," said sources. Thanks to bureaucracy, Baahubali-2 is safe at the box office.
