Ananth Kumar assures of Rs 1 cr for e-libraries

Bengaluru: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar has assured of sanctioning Rs.1 crore from MP fund to establish e-libraries in every ward of Bengaluru.

Speaking after inaugurating the e-library at N R Colony established by City Central Library and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), he said that along with the sanction of funds, he would write to the commissioner to start e-libraries in each ward.

“I will direct the BBMP commissioner to handover Rs.300 crore collected by the corporation as library fees to the Department of Public Libraries. This would help in establishing more libraries,” he said.Mayor Sampath Raj R said that the project of establishing the libraries in every ward will be included in the next budget.
