More than 50,000 people visits Lalbagh

Bengaluru: The Republic Day flower show organized by the Department of Horticulture and Mysuru Udyana Kala Sangha at Lalbagh on the theme of Mahamasthakabhisheka attracted more than 50,000 people on Sunday.

According to the Horticulture department, it collected Rs.23 lakh on a single day. In three days, around 85,000 people visited the garden, with a collection of revenue of Rs.36 lakh. As the density of people was more, ticket counters were opened at all four entrances on Sunday. People showed more interest in purchasing saplings from nurseries and other stalls.

On Sunday morning ‘Udayaraga’, and ‘Sandyaraga’ was organized at the Bandstand. Artists from Mundaragi and Bengaluru performed in the programme, which was a special attraction.Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader, MP Mallikarjuna Kharge visited the Lalbagh on Sunday evening. He was happy with the replica of Indragiri and Gommateshwara of Shravanabelagola inside the glass house.This time, to control the dust, water was sprayed on mud roads. Many precautionary measures were taken to avoid any kind of a possible mess because of the heavy crowd.
