Bengaluru: Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya has ordered to stop purchasing books for book banks of social welfare department hostels.

As there were few doubts regarding the purchase of books for the book banks of Social Welfare Department hostels, the minister has decided to cancel the process. “It is not fair to purchase 90% of books from one publication. I was not aware of the decision taken by the officers. I have ordered to cancel all the tenders called for the purchase of books and start the process once again,” he said.

There was an allegation that the list of books contained books about PM Narendra Modi, but no books about freedom fighters. “A new experts committee will be formed to list out the required books for students. Books must be purchased according to that. I won’t allow any misappropriation in the social welfare department,” he added.
