Revised voter list of BBMP limits to be out by February 15

Bengaluru: Special drive for revising the voters’ list will end on December 29. This is another opportunity for youth to add their names, drop the names and make any changes in their voters' ID information.

According to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner N. Manjunatha Prasad, the draft of the revised voters’ list was published on November 30. A special drive which started on Dec 14 will go on till 29. The final voters’ list will be published by February 15.

As a part of the drive, officers on election duty and booth-level officers (BLO) carried out a door-to-door visit to register the name of voters. Form No. 6,7,8 and 8A can be filled and submitted to BLOs, voters’ registration office, electoral education centre, assistant voters’ registration office, ward office, Bengaluru-One centre, Sakala centre of corporation limit and civil service centre. Names can also be registered in www.ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in.

The commissioner informed that booth-level officers have been appointed for all constituencies of the corporation-limit. Out of 5,518 officers, 3,451 officers were trained. Stringent action will be taken against 1,949 officers who were absent. As per the direction of the Election Commission, 575 new polling booths, this increased the total to 8,284.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner said that for graduate election eligible can register their name in the voters’ list using form-18 and it should be submitted at ward office or voters’ registration officer, assistant voters’ registration officer. The applicants should their degree three year before November 1, 2017.
