Bengaluru: Sunny Leone event organizer has moved the Karnataka High Court seeking a direction to authorities to give permission for it.

The petition may come up before a vacation bench. The government has denied permission to Bollywood actor Sunny Leone to perform at a New Year celebration event show in Bengaluru.

Bhavya H.S., the petitioner of The Time Creations, organisers of 'Sunny Night in Bengaluru', claimed that due to pendency of police permission, it's unable to forward requests and submit necessary clearances of other authorities such as BBMP, fire department, KSPCB, traffic and police. The organizer has sought the High Court's intervention and a direction to other authorities to accept and independently consider it.

According to the petitioner, the police or government authorities are not lawful in terming any event or person as demoralizing or anti-culture or security issue, adding that Sunny Leone is a renowned actor and the other performers at the event are also well known. "The notion of the government authorities is nothing but a serious case of derogation of art and women" the petitioner said.
