Bengaluru: The state BJP launched a scathing attack against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for denotifyng Rs 300 Crore worth land violating Supreme Court guidelines in Bhoopasandra village of Bengaluru North district.

BJP MLC B J Puttaswamy, BJP spokesperson G Madhusudan and MLA Ravi Subramanya released the documents to the media to justify their claim. The CM goes about singing that his government is free from corruption and scams but the deal has rendered 42 legitimate claimants landless, they charged.

Demanding the resignation of the chief minister, BJP leaders confirmed of lodging complaint with the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on October 11 to conduct a fair probe.

"The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) in 1978 had acquired a land measuring 3.34 acres in survey number 20 and 2.32 acres in survey number 21 for setting up second phase of Rajmahal Vilas. Later, it distributed the same among 22 people by following due procedure after settling payment issues.

"In 1992, the then government made a complete denotification of the land owned by Syed Bashid, K V Jayalakshmamma and Dobi Muniswami and handed over the same to three of them. In all, 22 site claimants demanded quashing of the land acquisition order and pleaded before the state High Court to return the sites due to them. The HC upheld their claim, while dismissing the petition lodged by Syed Bahsid", he said.

Further, Bahsid moved SC which again turned down the petition eventually ruling in favour of 22 site owners who had purchased the plot of land by following due procedure, he recalled.
