Underpass at Cauvery Junction has been re-opened for public

Bengaluru: The underpass at Cauvery Junction was re-opened by Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George on Monday as the repair works have been completed.

Known for its water-logging woes whenever it rains, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had closed the underpass to undertake repair works recently. The BBMP also completed the white-topping work at the underpass.According to a BBMP official, the tender was called to complete the work within 15 days. After the completion of the work, there was a bit of delay in opening the stretch for movement of vehicles.

The BBMP official said the traffic congestion on Ballari Road will now be reduced. This was one of the first magic-box underpasses which had been constructed by BBMP, spending Rs 1.5 crore.Mayor G Padmavathi, BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad and other senior officials were present at the function.
