BENGALURU: Students pursuing engineering under Viswesvaraya Technological University (VTU) are all set to take out a rally on August 18.They are asking the varsity to accept their demands pertaining to exams.

Their major demands include scrapping of the year back and critical year back for students who do not fall under the choice-based credit system (2010 scheme). They also want supplementary exams for the same students and that the results be announced on time.

They said that should any of these students fail and fall behind a year, they would be forced to come under the choice-based credit system scheme, making it tough to clear the exams.Roshan, an engineering student and a member All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO), said that the crash course system which was introduced to help students clear the previous exams wasn’t good enough.
