Bengaluru: Minister for Forests Ramanath Rai on July 26 said that he was ready for any post including that of home ministry.

The speculations of Rai being named as next home minister following resignation by G Parameshwara fuelled after a closed door meeting with CM on late Tuesday.

Commenting on the same, Rai told reporters in Vidhana Soudha, "I have held several portfolios in my political life. CM has indeed discussed about home ministry with me. Since few months BJP leaders have been making baseless allegations regarding communal rift. I am willing to take up any post. Ultimately CM will take the final call as to who should be handling the home portfolio."

G Parameshwara resigned as the home minister in accordance with instructions from the Congress High Command to continue as the party state head in view of the Assembly elections next year.
