Sasikala shuns cozy prison life, drapes white sari instead

After reports emerged about corruption in Central Prison located at Parappana Agrahara, Sasikala Natarajan who was sitting pretty enjoying all the facilities, has turned into a regular prisoner! This sudden turnaround is the result of warning by ADGP N S Megharik.

During a visit to Parappana Agrahara jail on July 21, ADGP N S Megharik had directed all the prisoners to abide by the prison rule book and warned of strict action against the violators. He said that none should be accorded special privileges despite their personal profile and social standing and all prisoners should be treated in equal measure, without any difference between common and the VIP. The warning bells appeared to have worked with supplies of liquor, beedi, cigarettes and marijuana coming to a sudden halt.

Megharik had said the kitchen inside the jail must be used for cooking food and none are eligible to avail special facilities like keeping separate cooks and owning exclusive kitchen to cook food.

As a result of his warning, Sasikala who used to dress as per her liking with quality attire and lead cozy life has suddenly reverted to a white sari! The government and police department have certainly woken up after former DIG (Prisons) Roopa alleged of rampant corruption in Parappana Agrahara prison. It remains to be seen how long the "Megahrik effect" will last.
