Days after former DIG Roopa alleged that the prison authorities were meting out special treatment to the jailed AIADMK chief in lieu of bribes, the AIADMK’s Karnataka Wing, led by the OPS camp has alleged that former state home minister and the now KPCC President Dr. G Parameshwara too was instrumental in Sasikala being able to enjoy a luxurious li

Hinting at Parameshwara’s involvement AIADMK Karnataka Youth Wing Secretary R Anubuvel( from the OPS camp) metioned that the AIADMK Karnataka Unit Secretary V Pugazhenthi (from the Sasikala camp) shares a close relation with the former Home Minister and he suspects that Parameshwara may have helped Sasikala in getting favours due to the closeness he shares with Pugazhenthi.

“If Pugazhenthi is not found in his home, he will be with Dr G Parameshara. That is how close the two of them are,” he said.

Terming the allegations levelled by Anubuvel as “baseless” the KPCC chief said that during his tenure as the state home minister he neither interfered nor influenced the prison activities and the jail officials always acted based on the prison manual. Further he added that the truth will come out after the probe that has been directed by the Chief Minister Siddarmaiah on the entire issue.

According to former DIG of Prisons, Roopa Moudgail’s Sasikala had paid a bribe of Rs 2 crore to the former DGP Prisons, Satyanarayana to get special favours.

Videos and images that have emerged from the jail have revealed that Sasikala and here aides have been allotted five rooms on the first floor entirely for themselves. She is also seen clad in civilian clothes in some of the images raising questions on the leniency that she enjoys while serving her jail term here.
