Bengaluru: Seven days after city railway police subjected around 200 children for investigation who arrived from Guwahati to the city in a train, MP and BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje has written a letter to home minister Rajnath Singh urging for a high-level investigation.

In her letter, Karandlaje has alleged that these children may be utilised for spreading of Vahabi movement or part of child trafficking. "These kids were not allowed to talk to media. State police left them without any inquiry. So central government must look into the issue," he has urged.

It can be recalled that on Tuesday July 11, around 200 students from various parts of North Eastern states had arrived at the city cantonment railway station in Guwahati express. This incident sparked controversy following the allegation that many of these kids are from Bangladesh. Railway and city police who inquired them informed that these children are studying in various Madrasas of the city.
