Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written to his Goa counterpart Manohar Parrikar requesting for a tentative date to hold a meeting of the Chief Ministers of three riparian States to help resolve the Mahadayi river water row.

The move comes in the wake of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responding positively to Siddaramaiah’s request for a meeting. In his letter to Parrikar, Siddaramaiah said his efforts to convene the meeting had been appreciated by Fadnavis.

Fadnavis had said: “Such a meeting will help resolve the issue amicably along with the true spirit of mutual co-operation and collaboration.”

Taking the initiative, Siddaramaiah on May 30 had written to his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis for organising a meeting of the three chief ministers.
