KSRTC to issue bus pass for students from today

Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced concessional bus pass scheme to all the students studying in various classes, institutes, and courses.

As per the calendar of events published by the KSRTC concessional bus pass scheme will be launched on June 9. According to KSRTC officials, concessional passes will be issued to primary and high school students through respective educational institutions from June 9.

As per state government's decision, the corporation will distribute free bus passes to SC and ST students.

"Students who belong to Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe are required to fill the details in the student pass application indicating their caste. These students shall provide copy of their caste certificate with the student pass application form," stated officials.

"Free bus passes will be issued to eligible beneficiaries. However, processing fee (Rs.80/-) and accident relief fund (Rs.5/- per month) amount needs to be paid by the beneficiaries," officials informed.

"Students residing at places within a distance of 60 km from their educational institutions are eligible for pass facility," officials informed.
