Pranab Mukherjee to inaugurate Namma Metro Green Line on June 17th

Bengaluru: Namma Metro green line, which connects Nagasandra of West Bengaluru with Yelachenahalli of South Bengaluru will be inaugurated on June 17. This most-delayed line which took nearly a decade due to technical issues on the underground tunnel sector will be inaugurated on June 17 by President of India Pranab Mukherjee.

According to the officials, Pranab Mukherjee is visiting the state on June 17 for two days and on the first day he will inaugurate this line. The line will be thrown open for the public from June 18.

With the inauguration of this line, the BMRCL is completing the phase-I of Namma Metro which was delayed by nearly a decade due to the issues like administrative approvals, cost escalation etc.

This green line is expected to be utilised by around 2 lakh commuters every day as it is connecting most important landmarks of the city including Majestic, KR Market, Yesvantpur etc.
