BENGALURU: Close on the heels of a complaint against the Deve Gowda family surfacing, JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday alleged that it was the handiwork of BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa.

A complaint was lodged with the Income-Tax Department’s Investigation wing on Tuesday by one Venkatesh Gowda, who claimed to be a Congress member. The complainant alleged that the Gowda family had accumulated wealth to the tune of `20,000 crore.

Earlier in the day, Congress leaders denied there was anyone called Venkatesh Gowda in their party.
Kumaraswamy alleged that the complaint was clearly cooked by the BJP which was desperate to tarnish his image.

“I know Yeddyurappa is responsible for this complaint. I also know that this complaint was leaked to the press by him. They know that people are leaning towards the JD(S) and rejecting the two major parties. This is being done only to create confusion in the minds of people,” Kumaraswamy said.

Reacting to Kumaraswamy’s statements, BJP state secretary Tejaswini Gowda said he had no right to talk about Yeddyurappa and instead of clarifying about the source of his numerous properties, he was making allegations against BJP.
