Jantakal case : Court extends interim anticipatory bail of H D Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru: In a big relief to former CM HD Kumaraswamy, 53rd Additional City Civil and Sessions Court has extended the interim anticipatory bail it granted to him in the Jantakal mining case till May 30.On May 17, court had granted him the interim anticipatory bail till May 23. Now this has been extended.

H D Kumaraswamy is facing investigation by Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Jantakal mining case as per the direction of the Supreme Court. The SIT has arrested former commissioner of mining department Gangaram Baderiya in this case.

HD Kumaraswamy has already appeared before the SIT for investigation. What has made this investigation more interesting is that the SIT is also taking up probe on the allegation made by former minister and BJP leader Gali Janardhana Reddy in 2006 against H D Kumaraswamy that he had taken Rs.150 crore from mining industrialists. Reddy has sought three weeks time to produce necessary documents.
