Govt. to prepone monsoon session of state legislature to June

Bengaluru: The State government has decided to prepone the annual monsoon session of the state legislature from July to June to ratify the amended GST bill.

According to the officials of the state secretariat, every year the monsoon session of the state legislature is scheduled in the month of July. But this year it will start on June 1 and conclude on June 19.

Session will be held for 16 days."One of the main reasons for preponement of the session is ratifying the GST bill, which will be implemented across the country from July 1," he said.

The session is expected to witness heated arguments between the ruling and the opposition leaders over the prevailing drought situation across the state and drinking water woes.
