Bengaluru: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Superintendent of Police S. Girish, was transferred on Thursday, a day after he led a team that searched the offices and residences of four senior government officials, unearthing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

A release said Girish has been transferred with immediate effect and posted as Superintendent of Police, Administration (Headquarters), ACB. He has been replaced by T.D. Pawar, Superintendent of Police, Internal Security Division, Bengaluru.

The timing of the transfer has raised questions as two of the four officials whose premises were searched on Wednesday are said to be close to the government.

The ACB had searched the houses and offices of Additional Commissioner (East zone) of BBMP K.C. Yatish Kumar, Ramanagaram tahsildar N. Raghpathy, KPTCL Director H. Nagesh and Superintendent of Directorate of Technical Education Ramakrishna Reddy.
